Hotel des Artistes Owner Testimonials
"When Gary and Ellen Luchtel from Napa Valley, California became the very FIRST owners at the Punta Mita Beach Club, they both envisioned that the relaxing time they would plan to spend at the northern shore of Banderas Bay would eventually become their annual winter oasis. This would be a relaxing annual experience and something for them to look forward to after completing the arduous tasks required of each fall grape harvest – picking, crushing, pressing, pump overs and other interesting yet demanding wine making activities required to own and operate their custom crush boutique winery, Surh Luchtel Cellars and vineyards known as Fortunati Vineyards. In early 2006, when they anchored their sailing boat just off the shore of Punta Mita, disembarked into the dingy for the ride ashore one last time before the boat was to be relocated back home in the San Francisco Bay, the prospect of not regularly returning to this sunny coastline after having sailed the expansive bay on and off for over a year was rather disappointing to them - especially since Punta had became their favorite spot to anchor, having never actually driven there prior to their purchase! A condo at the Punta de Mita Beach Club & Spa became the answer to continuing the sunshine exposure and annual escape from the Northern California winter rains." "Our family begin taking trips to Punta de Mita about eight years ago on the advice of friends to find great surf, weather and people. Every year, since the first visit, we have made time to go back at least twice a year. Our first visit to Punta de Mita, however, had a few mishaps. Our children were 11, 8 and 4 on our first visit and although good children they did tend to have the occasional sibling fight, food or drink spill, lost or broken items or some such incident that could cause family strife. It was, however, the lost item incident on our first trip to Punta de Mita that sealed our addiction to the area. Our son or daughters (no one will own up) somehow misplaced the rental Jeep keys after a full day surfing and snorkeling trip. After an hour or so of looking we finally gave up and our good friends took our three lovely children with them (seven in their Jeep) back to the hotel leaving the two of us to wait for the rental car company to deliver a new set of keys. We were tired, hungry and irritated at the situation. We sat down at a table on the sand and sort of looked up at the sky that was turning shades of purple, orange and pink. We then saw a waiter walking over to us with two ice cold Pacificos and a basket of chips with salsa. The air calmed and the ocean turned still. We looked at each other and both started to smile, there was no better place to lose your keys, no better place really to be at that moment in our lives. From that moment until this day that little speck of beach is our favorite place to spend time together as a family. On our last visit to Punta de Mita, we were coming back in from yet another surfing trip and we noticed a beautiful condominium project in the middle of construction. It was seriously on the spot where we sat during the lost key evening. We practically hit the sand running and within two hours had fallen in love with the project and knew there was no way we could let this opportunity pass us by. We are so thankful to Don and Anna for their help in us finding our second home and we are looking forward to spending as much time as possible watching the sky turn shades of purple, orange and pink from our balcony overlooking the beautiful beaches of Anclote." "It was purely by chance that my wife and I stumbled across the area of Punta de Mita. Not knowing where to spend our next vacation, we started searching the web. We happened upon an ad for accommodation in Punta de Mita. Sounded nice. Neither of us had heard of the area nor had any of our friends. We booked our vacation, and off we went with the boys in tow. It was everything we were looking for but didn't expect to find. Quiet, relaxing, beautiful, and clean. We have vacationed there ever since, and jumped at the opportunity to purchase into the Punta de Mita Beach Club & Spa when it was just a sign erected on the empty lot. The Beach Club has surpassed our expectations in both design and amenities and will now be our vacation headquarters for enjoying everything from whale watching, sporting activities, the incredible scenery, and fantastic restaurants." "We bought at Punta de Mita Beach Club for several reasons: Great weather. We love the sunny days and perfect beach temperature. We love the area and it is an easy flight for us from where we live. We love being in a part of Mexico that still has some of the original culture present. Specifically we bought at the Punta Mita Beach Club & Spa because: We love the layout of the spacious condo and the extras, granite counter tops, high end appliances, room service available and concierge. Great location, you can't get any closer to the beach! The fractional unit was in price range and available for the time of year we wanted it. Wanted the convenience of home while on vacation since traveling with young child. Investment opportunity with the benefit of immediate enjoyment. Great growth potential in the area, we seem to be on the forefront." |
